may I see a show of hands?
Great! OK. Raise your hand if you saw this and as soon as you possibly could ran here to get some of your very own teeny, tiny galvanized bins?
Yep. I thought so. And guess what? My hand is raised, too! I think I walked past them a few times ... but for heaven's sake ... that dollar section is right at the front of the store. Every time I walked past them, I heard them calling me. "Take me home ... Cathy has some ... Ali has some ... Cathy's cool... Ali's cool ... do you want to be cool or not?" I mean really, how much willpower can one girl have?
Eventually I caved, forking over three bucks for three of my very own teeny, tiny galvanized bins.
Now, I know you're out there. You saw it, too, didn't you? Come on ... tell me I'm not alone. You thought, just like I thought: "Cathy has these. Ali has these. I must have these, too!" And you got them. Am I right?
I think I am and it really makes me feel better about myself to believe I am not alone in this teeny, tiny galvanized bin saga. (And ... between you and me, I've seen these little bins in your homes and in photos you send me. I know, you could have thought of this on your own ... but really, you saw it on Cathy's blog, too. Right?)
OK. Good. You can put your hands down. Alright, let's have one more show of hands. How many of you have put these tiny little gems to use?
Ah ... well, I'm pleased to announce, my hand is at long last raised high and proud. I have *finally* found a use for my $3 investment! Big news. Yes? And guess what, it's this week's creative challenge! Yippee! It's a quick and simple one if you jumped on the teeny, tiny galvanized bin band wagon. A bit tougher if you didn't. But, anyway ... here she goes.
Fun and simple! (My favorite kind of project.) It took just a few minutes and a few on-hand supplies to create a functional, little organizing tool.
So what's this for? Well, remember these? All the little notes go from the distractions pad into the mini in box. Ultimately the items on the notes get transferred into here onto the appropriate list. Now, certainly I could put everything right into the Circa --- but my goal with the distractions pad is the quick-and-easy-get-it-out-of-my-head-now approach so I can keep focused on what I'm really working on. And ... I don't take my Circa to bed with me or bring it into my kitchen. So, I have three mini in boxes --- one in the office, one in the laundry room (steps away from the kitchen) and one in the bedroom. Voila!
Have fun and have a great weekend!

Oh my goodness! This is so adorable! I just got motivated to get my paper in my drawer, but I looked at this first. Now I'm madly looking for some flowers and my rub ons! I can not wait to do this. It is so totally adorable and so, so fun! How cute is this going to be in my kitchen and my office!
But I must admit, where you could hold yourself to buying just 3 (you've told me how you shop!), I have 10 of the rectangular ones and about 8 or so of the round ones. I used the round ones for an art station in McKenzie's playroom. I'll send you a picture. It's not as cute as yours with the rub on letters and the flowers, but they were cute for her room. I used polka-dot ribbon and surprise, surprise, I wasn't concerned that if I used it I would run out and not have any left to use for another project.
I think a light is going off now...I bought the ribbon for that project, and used it for that project. Isn't that how you told me you buy scrapbook supplies?!?!? Maybe your organized way of thinking is starting to sink in!
Happy Friday! I'll do my best to send the rain your way!

This is SUCH a cute idea! I LOVE Target...and I LOVE the dollar section...and I am seriously ADDICTED to containers. I don't know what it is...I LOVE buying new containers, even though I NEVER know what to put in them. My boyfriend just groans when I come home with another pencil box, folder, tool box, etc... teehee!

Yep, I'm guilty. I bought 2 dozen of these - both the round buckets and the square bins. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Wanna see a picture of what I did with them? Here you go: http://www.scrapjazz.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=143945
Fun aren't they?

OK. Yes. I bought them. And I am SO glad to see what others have done with them because mine are collecting dust. A relatively inexpensive way for me to remind myself that buying what the "cool" girls buy will not automatically make me cool. That said, I will now try to use them as something other than dust catchers... :) Thanks for the inspiration.
